World Stroke Day

The world stroke day in Thursday of Mehr was held with cooperation of NSRC, Tabriz Health Center of Municipality and the Neurology Department of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Public health education was performed in four "Health Houses" in various locations of Tabriz city, which was about prevention, treatment, and signs of stroke and importance of early diagnosis of stroke. In each house, one neurologist member of the NSRC together with a student or secretary presented the education. In the Health House of Shahid Beheshti, in Tavanir Ave, in a presentation hall with audio-visual facilities, Dr S. Savadi Oskoee, Head of the Neurology Department together with Dr. R. Deljavan attended and made their presentation from 11 am to 12.20pm and answered the questions of the audience. In the Health House of Ana in Firuz St., in a presentation hall with audio-visual facilities, Dr M. Hashemilar associate prof. of neurology made his presentation together with Ms. H. Rahimi from 11 am to 12.20pm among the attending women with an active discussion while questions about stroke were answered. In Health House of Eram in Eram region, in a presentation hall with audio-visual facilities, Dr K. Mehrvar, neurologist, together with Dr B. Saber attended in 11.15 am In the Health House of Alghadir, in Sattar Khan Ave. in a presentation hall with audio-visual facilities Dr K. Garnush, resident of neurology together with Dr S. Sadigh Eteghad communed about stroke from 11am to 12.15 pm and questions about stroke were answered. Brochures about stroke were distributed in the Health Houses all over Tabriz during several days after presentations. Also, emblems about stroke were sent to the Central Office of Tabriz City Buses, in order to be mounted on buses. The emblems are as below: Stroke can be treated! In Stroke, time is Brain! Healthy life style would reduce the stroke risk to half! Our brain is our life. Protect your life by self-care! Women suffer more from stroke consequences! The most important step for stroke prevention is control of blood pressure!
